Effective teaching draws upon multiple languages to get the point across. This session will highlight strategies for developing the many different language(s) of teaching.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cReflections on Teaching in the Canadian Classroom\u201d<\/strong><br \/>\nSaturday, Nov. 26, 10 a.m. to 12 noon, TH 253<br \/>\nWhat have you learned about teaching in the Canadian classroom? What keeps you awake at night? This session provides an opportunity to share stories and strategies about surviving and thriving as an international TA.<\/p>\n<p>The series is a new initiative presented by the <a href=\"http:\/\/brocku.ca\/ctlet\">Centre for Teaching, Learning and Educational Technologies<\/a> (CTLET) in consultation with <a href=\"http:\/\/brocku.ca\/esl-services\" target=\"_blank\">ESL Services<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/brocku.ca\/international-services\" target=\"_blank\">International Services and Programs Abroad<\/a>, the <a href=\"http:\/\/brocku.ca\/gsa\" target=\"_blank\">Graduate Students\u2019 Association<\/a> and the <a href=\"http:\/\/brocku.ca\/graduate-studies\" target=\"_blank\">Faculty of Graduate Studies<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Over the past couple of years, we have observed a significant increase in the number of international TAs taking part in our Saturday morning teaching workshops,\u201d said Jill Grose, CTLET associate director. \u201cGiven that they are new to teaching in the Canadian context, we wanted to develop additional programming specifically tailored to their needs.
