The Brock community is mourning the loss of Christina Sewell<\/a>, a member of the Custodial Services team who will be remembered for her friendly presence and ability to connect with others. She passed away on July 9.<\/p>\n

Sewell supported a healthy and safe campus environment for 15 years. Most recently part of the midnight shift team, she was a familiar face on Brock’s main campus and especially in the Matheson Learning Commons and Plaza Building.<\/p>\n

Custodial Supervisors Shelly Gianetto-Hill and Mellissa Woods remember Sewell as a dedicated colleague who took pride in her work.\u00a0Known for always having sweets on hand to share, they say Sewell valued the friendships she built throughout her career and made a point of maintaining connections with colleagues even after they had retired.<\/p>\n

Above all, Gianetto-Hill and Woods describe Sewell as being deeply passionate about her family and the relationships that mattered most to her, leaving a lasting impression on everyone who had the honour of knowing her.<\/p>\n

CUPE 1295 President and colleague Stephen Pascuzzi will always remember Sewell\u2019s electric personality, willingness to help others and ability to motivate her team.<\/p>\n

\u201cChristina loved to laugh \u2014 her laughter and sense of humour was unique only to her,\u201d he says. \u201cShe was a pleasure to work with. We are proud of the work she did at Brock and she provided a great service to the University community. It was a privilege to call her a member of this union.\u201d<\/p>\n

A celebration of life<\/a> will be held on Saturday, Aug. 29 from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Lazy Lizard located at 396 Ontario St. in St. Catharines.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
