The Brock University women\u2019s volleyball team marked a milestone moment this weekend when they won a bronze medal at the 2026 U SPORTS Championship<\/a>, a first in the program\u2019s history.<\/p>\n

Facing a powerhouse opponent and a passionate home crowd in Langley, B.C., the Badgers defeated the Trinity Western Spartans 3-2 in a deciding set on Sunday, March 15.<\/p>\n

“Winning this medal means the world to me,” said fifth-year outside hitter Emily Foest. “When I came to Brock I knew it was going to be a great program and the sky was the limit. To cap off my final year with a bronze at nationals is more than I could ask for.”<\/p>\n

Foest was named the Mikasa Team Player of the Game after contributing 12.5 points from 12 kills and a block assist, while fourth-year outside hitter Madison Tuck led all players with 21 points on 14 kills, three aces and four blocks.<\/p>\n

Head coach Steve Delaney said their victory was well-deserved.<\/p>\n

“We’ve been playing our best volleyball at the end of the season, and we continued it here,\u201d he said. “We saw opportunities to put it away and take control and win those sets, and sometimes you can’t pull through and get it done. It was really good that we were able to bounce back in the fourth and get it done in the fifth.”<\/p>\n

At the conclusion of the tournament, the Badgers also saw individual honours as MacKenna Knox was named a Championship All-Star, while Isabella Samazadeh received the R.W. Pugh Fair Play Award.<\/p>\n

“This group is definitely special, and it was like no other experience I’ve had,” Foest said. “Any game no matter up or down, we were so calm and composed and we always did it for us. I think ultimately that’s why we were able to do so well.”<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, the team captured their fourth provincial title when they defeated the McMaster Marauders 3-1 at the 2026 Ontario University Athletics final<\/a> to win the coveted Quigley Cup.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
