The Brock community is joining organizations and individuals across Canada next week to celebrate efforts to build a more peaceful, inclusive and prosperous world.<\/p>\n
International Development Week (IDW)<\/a>, an annual Global Affairs Canada initiative, runs from Sunday, Feb. 1 to Saturday, Feb. 7.<\/p>\n \u201cIDW is a chance for everyone on campus to learn more about Brock\u2019s global connections and contributions to building a more sustainable future for communities around the world<\/a>,\u201d says Marla Terreberry-Portfilio, Associate Director, International Services with Brock International<\/p>\n Brock researchers will be sharing the global impact of their work during an IDW panel discussion exploring the roles that education, sustainable livelihoods, resilient ecosystems, decent work and strong institutions play in poverty reduction.<\/p>\n Offered in a hybrid format, the panel takes place online and in RFP 214\/215 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 4. The event is open to all members of the Brock community and registration details can be found on\u00a0ExperienceBU<\/a>.<\/p>\n The panel, which will be moderated by Associate Vice-President, Research Deborah O\u2019Leary, includes:<\/p>\n Those looking to learn more about other countries and cultures can visit three Taste the World, Test the World booths on Monday, Feb. 2 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Hosted by Brock\u2019s International Student Ambassadors, the event will allow students, faculty and staff to try international snacks and test their trivia skills. While registration is not required, those interested in attending can RSVP on ExperienceBU<\/a>.<\/p>\n Brock\u2019s Facilities Management will share more about how the sustainability and energy efficiency intersect with cutting-edge research in the Roy and Lois Cairns Health and Bioscience Research Complex. The tour, which is open to all members of the Brock community, takes place from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 3.
