{"id":107261,"date":"2026-01-26T12:28:05","date_gmt":"2026-01-26T17:28:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?p=107261"},"modified":"2026-01-26T12:28:05","modified_gmt":"2026-01-26T17:28:05","slug":"badgers-to-bring-heat-downtown-for-paint-the-meridian-red","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2026\/01\/badgers-to-bring-heat-downtown-for-paint-the-meridian-red\/","title":{"rendered":"Badgers to bring heat downtown for Paint the Meridian Red"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When Audrey Ntetani hits the court under the bright lights of the Meridian Centre this week, she plans to give it all she\u2019s got.<\/p>\n<p>The Brock Badgers guard hopes that energy will resonate with fans \u2014 and leave them on the edge of their seats \u2014 as they watch their hometown favourites take on the McMaster Marauders in the annual Paint the Meridian Red basketball doubleheader on Saturday, Jan. 31.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_107264\" style=\"width: 360px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/Audrey-Ntetani-scaled.jpg\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-107264\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-107264\" src=\"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/Audrey-Ntetani-1050x700.jpg\" alt=\"Two women play basketball during a game in a university gymnasium.\" width=\"350\" height=\"233\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-107264\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Brock women&#8217;s basketball team, including fifth-year Business Administration student Audrey Ntetani (left), will take on the McMaster Marauders during the annual Paint the Meridian Red doubleheader on Saturday, Jan. 31.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Crowds at the annual downtown showdown will be treated to two high-energy matchups, with the women\u2019s game tipping off at 6 p.m. followed by the men\u2019s game at 8 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to leave everything on the court,\u201d says Ntetani, a fifth-year Bachelor of Business Administration student who intends to make the most of her final Paint the Meridian appearance. \u201cI hope to fully appreciate the moment, reflect on how far I\u2019ve come and enjoy the experience in its entirety while representing Brock one last time on that stage.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Michael Matas also can\u2019t wait to make his downtown return.<\/p>\n<p>The Badgers forward, who is no stranger to Paint the Meridian Red, says the big arena game hits differently, providing an unforgettable night for those on and off the court.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPlaying in the Meridian Centre is an incredible experience,\u201d he says. \u201cLooking up mid-game and seeing a sea of fans dressed in red is something I&#8217;ll never forget.
