Brock University faculty and staff are invited to participate in a series of monthly seminars focused on health and well-being.<\/p>\n
Offered by the Office of People and Culture (OPC) Health Management team, the series builds on the popularity of Brock\u2019s annual employee Wellness Day.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis series brings the concept of Wellness Day to life year-round through short, accessible learning opportunities. With that in mind, the series was developed also in recognition of the complex and demanding roles staff and faculty hold across the institution,\u201d says Martina Ciglenecki, Manager of Health Management and Wellness.<\/p>\n
Led by subject-matter experts from Brock and the wider Niagara community, each session will focus on a timely and relevant health or well-being topic and offer practical, evidence-informed information attendees can apply in the workplace and beyond. Seminars will be offered online or in person depending on the topic.<\/p>\n
Ciglenecki says the series has been designed in a \u201clunch and learn\u201d format that offers employees opportunities to learn while connecting with colleagues.<\/p>\n
\u201cCreating intentional space during the workday to engage in wellness learning and enjoyable self care opportunities supports not only individual health, but the long-term sustainability of our academic and professional community,”\u00a0she says.<\/p>\n
The series kicks off online at noon on Thursday, Jan. 22 with a discussion about maintaining healthy legs<\/a> while standing or sitting for long periods of time.
