Brock University staff can grow their leadership skills through several professional development opportunities kicking off this winter.<\/p>\n
The long-standing Emerging Leaders and Leading at Brock programs are designed to build participants\u2019 leadership capacity in a way that is tailored to their individual roles and goals. Applications for the 2026 cohorts, which will run for a year, will be accepted from Monday, Jan. 5 to Friday, Feb. 6.<\/p>\n
Emerging Leaders is designed for staff who do not currently supervise full-time employees or have formal leadership responsibility. The program supports participants in developing foundational leadership competencies and building the skills and confidence needed to grow into future leadership roles.<\/p>\n
Participants will engage in sessions on strategic goal setting, strength-based leadership, campus engagement, career development, workplace well-being, effective communication and resilience.<\/p>\n
Those applying to the program must complete a professional development plan with their manager. Eligibility and application details for the Emerging Leaders program can be found on the Office of People and Culture\u2019s (OPC) SharePoint site<\/a>.<\/p>\n Leading at Brock is designed for those who are already responsible for the performance of full-time staff, including people managers, directors, associate and executive directors.<\/p>\n The program aims to further develop participants\u2019 ability to foster a supportive learning culture, drive high performance within teams and understand their leadership strengths and styles.<\/p>\n Participants will engage in sessions on goal setting, strength-based leadership, supporting positive workplace culture, project management, strategic planning, difficult conversations and change management.<\/p>\n Eligibility and application details for the Leading at Brock program can be found on the OPC SharePoint site<\/a>.<\/p>\n
