Youth from across the globe will come together at Brock University next spring to tackle real-world issues with an innovative solution: robots.<\/p>\n

In June, Brock will host the Canada Cup of Robotics \u2013 Niagara 2026<\/a>, an international championship that will see teams design, build and program problem-solving robots on site.<\/p>\n

Held from June 13 to 20, the event will feature the FIRST<\/em> Tech Challenge and the FIRST<\/em> LEGO League competitions taking place across Brock University\u2019s St. Catharines campus and the adjacent Canada Games Park. More than 5,000 participants and spectators are expected to attend, including competing students aged nine to 18 from more than 30 countries around the world.<\/p>\n

The Canada Cup of Robotics, presented in partnership by FIRST<\/em> Robotics Canada and Brock University, celebrates the spirit of problem-solving and discovery at the heart of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe success and growth of our partnership with FIRST<\/em> Robotics Canada underscores Brock\u2019s leadership in the sciences and beyond,\u201d said Peter Berg, Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Science at Brock University. \u201cHosting the Canada Cup of Robotics is an extraordinary opportunity to showcase Brock\u2019s innovative approach to STEM education and inspire the next generation of scientists, engineers and creative minds.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dave Ellis, President of FIRST<\/em> Robotics Canada, said the event has \u201calways been about more than robots.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s about inspiring young people to become science and technology leaders and innovators,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Canada Cup of Robotics, taking place in one of the country\u2019s most iconic locations, will be the largest robotics competition for students in Canadian history and will showcase the power of hands-on learning, mentorship and global collaboration \u2014 the very heart of our mission,\u201d Ellis said. \u201cWe look forward to bringing the world together in the spirit of competition and collaboration.\u201d<\/p>\n

With support from Brock University, FIRST<\/em> Robotics Canada and community partners, attendees can look forward to on-campus social events, educational exhibits and opportunities to explore Niagara\u2019s vibrant culture and attractions.<\/p>\n

The partnership reflects Brock\u2019s ongoing commitment to hands-on learning opportunities and community engagement, aligning with its mission to connect students with practical experiences in STEM, among others.<\/p>\n
