Successful applicants will be thoughtfully matched based on their professional interests, experiences and goals.

Each mentorship pair will be invited to attend an orientation in August and then meet once a month, either in person or virtually, to discuss challenges and support one another’s growth.

Optional monthly prompts and tools will be provided to guide conversations and enhance learning.

Mentorship is open to all eligible Brock faculty and staff. Those interested must be actively employed for the duration of the program and commit to monthly meetings throughout the academic year.

Vandermolen says the initiative is intended to be both flexible and personalized. Mentors don’t need formal leadership experience, but rather a willingness to share what they’ve learned and to support others in their development.

Mentees, meanwhile, are encouraged to bring curiosity and initiative to the experience and to reflect on their learning throughout the process.

“Mentorship is a meaningful way to build community and foster mutual learning across our diverse campus,” Vandermolen said. “At a large institution like Brock, we’re fortunate to have so many talented individuals who are eager to share their experiences and support one another’s growth.”

Throughout the year, participants will also have access to a dedicated Teams channel, which will include resources, monthly discussion ideas and a supportive online community.

The program wraps up in April with a celebratory event recognizing the shared development and relationships built.

For information on the application process, visit the Learning and Development SharePoint site.
