{"id":102159,"date":"2025-06-09T16:11:02","date_gmt":"2025-06-09T20:11:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?p=102159"},"modified":"2025-06-09T17:46:21","modified_gmt":"2025-06-09T21:46:21","slug":"what-you-need-to-know-as-spring-convocation-kicks-off","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2025\/06\/what-you-need-to-know-as-spring-convocation-kicks-off\/","title":{"rendered":"What you need to know as Spring Convocation kicks off"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>More than 3,800 Badgers will mark a milestone moment during Brock University\u2019s 117th Convocation this week.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s everything graduands, guests and community members need to know as the Class of 2025 prepares to cross the stage.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ceremony schedule and location<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Spring Convocation will take place from Tuesday, June 10 to Friday, June 13, with daily ceremonies running at 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., except Friday when only a morning ceremony is scheduled.<\/p>\n<p>All ceremonies will be held in the Ian D. Beddis Gymnasium, located in the Walker Sports Complex, and streamed at <a href=\"brocku.ca\/livestream\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">brocku.ca\/livestream<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Arrival and check-in<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>No tickets are required, but each graduand is welcome to bring two guests. Guests must check in upon arrival and are encouraged to bring the name and student ID number of the graduand they\u2019re celebrating.<\/p>\n<p>Graduands and guests are advised to arrive at least 90 minutes before the start of the ceremony to ensure they are checked in on time.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Post-ceremony celebrations<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After each ceremony, graduates and their guests are invited to the Alumni Celebration in Rankin Family Pavilion. The festivities include photo opportunities, light refreshments and live music.<\/p>\n<p>For master\u2019s and PhD graduates, a special celebration will also take place on the upper level of the Rankin Family Pavilion.<\/p>\n<p>The Grad\u00b2 Celebration area, which is available after every graduate ceremony, includes photo opportunities, sweet treats and the chance to mingle with fellow graduates, faculty and staff.<\/p>\n<p>Class of 2025 graduates are encouraged to <a href=\"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/alumni\/welcome\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">update their contact information<\/a> with Brock University Alumni Relations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Campus Store<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Brock <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bkstr.com\/brockstore\/home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Campus Store<\/a> will be open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. A pop-up shop in the Walker Sports Complex near Hungry Badger will offer Brock gear and degree frames from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. from Tuesday to Thursday and 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Complimentary diploma framing is available with the purchase of a frame, which can be preordered online or purchased at the pop-up store during the week.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Parking<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Complimentary parking will be available for all Convocation ceremonies. Directional signage will lead guests to Lots D and B, with accessible parking located in Lot P. Overflow parking will be directed to Lots 2 and 3. Note that there are no ceremonies on Monday, so complimentary parking begins Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Carpooling and ride sharing is highly encouraged to help ease traffic flow and ensure a smoother experience for all guests.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Online celebration toolkit<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Graduands can join in the celebration by using Brock\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/convocation\/celebrate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">online toolkit<\/a>, featuring Convocation-themed graphics, to help share the excitement.
