Leading international scholar Viswanath Venkatesh will share strategies to help scholars overcome research contextualization challenges created by evolving technology during the next Goodman School of Business Luncheon Speaker Series event.<\/p>\n
Venkatesh, Eminent Scholar and Verizon Chair of Business Information Technology\u00a0at Virginia Tech\u2019s Pamplin College of Business, will deliver his lecture, \u201cContextualization and Scientific Contributions,\u201d on Friday, March 28 in Sankey Chamber.<\/p>\n
During the event, Venkatesh will discuss how researchers can define the problem they\u2019re exploring, anchor to prior research, seek novelty and use reporting practices to achieve rigorous contextualization for their work.<\/p>\n
Venkatesh is a Fellow of the Association for Information Systems and the Information Systems Society. His work has been published in journals such as Information Systems Research<\/em>, MIS Quarterly<\/em> and Academy of Management Journal. <\/em>Throughout his career, Venkatesh has worked in an editorial capacity with various journals, including the Journal of the Association for Information Systems, Organizational Behaviour and Human Decision Processes <\/em>and the Journal of Operations Management. <\/em><\/p>\n Venkatesh earned his PhD at the University of Minnesota. Since 2021, he has served as Director of the Executive PhD program at the Pamplin College of Business. He has also held various faculty positions at the University of Maryland and the University of Arkansas.<\/p>\n
