{"id":10016,"date":"2011-05-19T14:39:44","date_gmt":"2011-05-19T19:39:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?p=10016"},"modified":"2015-09-25T13:33:21","modified_gmt":"2015-09-25T17:33:21","slug":"seven-brock-grads-among-40-under-forty","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2011\/05\/seven-brock-grads-among-40-under-forty\/","title":{"rendered":"Nine Brock grads among &#8220;40 Under Forty&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nine Brock alumni have recently been honoured for their success and positive impact in the Niagara region.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.businesslinkniagara.com\/articles\/?c=85\" target=\"_blank\">The Business Link&#8217;s 40 Under Forty Business Achievement Awards<\/a> give recognition to  Niagara\u2019s next generation of business leaders.<\/p>\n<p>At an event held on May 11, Mario De Divitiis (BA \u201906, MA \u201908), Jeff Guarasci (BA \u201900), Alexandra Hlinyanszky (BA \u201902), Karen Marquardt Wyers (BRLS \u201993), Jeffrey Neill (BAcc \u201904), Laura Ricciuto (BA \u201905, MBA \u201908), Dave Shaw, Natalee Tokar (BBA \u201903) and Andrew Ware (BBE \u201903) were all recognized for their work.<\/p>\n<p>We couldn\u2019t be more proud of the continuous ways that Brock graduates develop as positive leaders within the community.<\/p>\n<p><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_10325\" style=\"width: 160px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><strong><strong><a class=\"highslide\" onclick=\"return vz.expand(this)\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-10325\" href=\"http:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?attachment_id=10325\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-10325\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-10325\" title=\"Brock University graduate, Mario De Divitiis (BA \u201906, MA \u201908\" src=\"http:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/de-divitiis-mario-cropped-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Mario De Divitiis\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/strong><\/strong><p id=\"caption-attachment-10325\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Mario De Divitiis<\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong><\/strong><strong>Mario De Divitiis (BA \u201906, MA \u201908)<\/strong><br \/>\nLeadership Niagara<\/p>\n<p>As the executive director of Leadership Niagara, De Divitiis<strong> <\/strong>is responsible for planning and implementing their strategic direction \u2013 using his passion to develop public and private partnerships to help strengthen Niagara\u2019s economy. He\u2019s also co-owner of \u201cSeven 2 Hospitalities\u201d which includes properties such as the Moose and Goose, Envy Lounge and Donnelly\u2019s Pub. De Divitiis sponsors several charities in the community including the Hernder Picasso\u2019s Foundation, and hosts the Spirit of Christmas Dinner at his company\u2019s venue \u2013 Stella\u2019s Dining Lounge. Over the years, De Divitiis had job opportunities in Ottawa and Calgary but chose to work in Niagara so he could remain close to friends and family. As Resource Development and Communications Coordinator for Project S.H.A.R.E., Guarasci  helps provide Niagara Falls\u2019 residents that fall below the poverty level with the necessities of life like food and emergency shelter.\u00a0 Since joining Project S.H.A.R.E. in 2002, Guarasci  has helped increase food and money donations at his agency by over 400%. On a personal level, Guarasci  has also been the recipient of Niagara College\u2019s Peter F. Those passions convinced her to launch Pan Caf\u00e9 in 2007 \u2013 a St. Catharines-based restaurant with a special menu designed to accommodate everyone from vegans and vegetarians to people with gluten and dietary issues. With the help of her husband, Hlinyanszky grows several organic foods for the restaurant in their backyard. She has also expanded her business, and now offers a new program that caters healthy food to young children.\u00a0 Hlinyanszky has donated her time with many local organizations including Wellspring Niagara and the Suitcase in Point Theatre Company where she acts as Artistic Director.\u00a0 She also provides free space at her restaurant to many community groups that need to hold special events.<\/p>\n<p><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_10326\" style=\"width: 160px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><strong><strong><a class=\"highslide\" onclick=\"return vz.expand(this)\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-10326\" href=\"http:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?attachment_id=10326\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-10326\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-10326\" title=\"Brock University graduate, Karen Marquardt Wyers (BRLS \u201993)\" src=\"http:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/marquardt-wyers-karen-cropped-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Karen Marquardt Wyers\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/strong><\/strong><p id=\"caption-attachment-10326\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Karen Marquardt Wyers<\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong>Karen Marquardt Wyers (BRLS \u201993)<\/strong><br \/>\nRadar Property Management Inc.<\/p>\n<p>As operating partner at Radar Property Management, Marquardt Wyers specializes in tenant recruitment, property management and property investment consulting. Marquardt Wyers\u2019 husband launched their firm in 2001 and she decided to come on board after her maternity leave in 2006. Since that time, Marquardt Wyers has helped to grow their business \u2013 quadrupling their client base and adding a staff of five. She\u2019s also seen her sales triple in the past three years. Marquardt Wyers is proud to serve her community, sitting on the Parent Involvement Committee at Prince Philip Public School. In 1997, she helped found Paul\u2019s Kids \u2013 a charitable organization named after her late father that raises money for children\u2019s sports initiatives. Their annual Tall Paul Fall Classic golf tournament has raised more than $30,000 to date.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_10028\" style=\"width: 160px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a class=\"highslide\" onclick=\"return vz.expand(this)\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-10028\" href=\"http:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?attachment_id=10028\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-10028\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-10028\" title=\"Brock University alumnus, Jeffrey Neill, is one of The Business Link\u2019s 40 Under Forty Business Achievement Award recipients\" src=\"http:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/neill-jeffrey-cropped-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Jeffrey Neill\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-10028\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Jeffrey Neill<\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong>Jeffrey Neill (BAcc \u201904)<\/strong><br \/>\nDurward Jones Barkwell &amp; Company LLP<\/p>\n<p>Since joining DJB as a co-op student in 2004, Jeffrey Neill  has been committed to being the best.\u00a0 Working his way up the ladder, he was promoted to the position of Manager in 2007 \u2013 and is now responsible for $400,000 in billings, training and mentoring a staff of 15, and chairing the firm\u2019s IT committee.\u00a0 Neill  is a firm believer in helping out in the community.\u00a0 Each year, he volunteers his time with several organizations and events including Big Brothers Big Sisters and the Terry Fox Run \u2013 and helps provide free income tax clinics for low income families in Welland. With Ricciuto\u2019s strong work ethic and firm direction, her company has experienced strong growth, expanding its sales by over 50% each year.\u00a0 Starting out as a small operation, Kaizen Marketing has now secured a premium office space in downtown St. Catharines and dramatically increased their range of services.\u00a0 Ricciuto is also a pillar of the community through her volunteer work with countless local charities and non-profit organizations like United Way, Community Care and the St. Catharines &amp;
