A wave of students, staff, faculty members and community representatives made their way through the exhibits and interactive booths of Brock\u2019s second annual World Water Day Celebration.<\/a><\/p>\n

Hosted by Brock\u2019s Environmental Sustainability Research Centre, the event took place on Friday, March 21 in the Rankin Family Pavilion.<\/p>\n

Visitors learned more about the precious resource, including how water is studied and protected across Niagara, through research posters and artistic displays \u2014 including artwork from schools across the Niagara Catholic District School Board \u2014 or by engaging with community representatives from Niagara Region, Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority, Niagara Parks, Niagara Geopark and Niagara College about initiatives and volunteer opportunities.<\/p>\n

Attendees also had the opportunity to hear a guest lecture, \u201cGlacial Temporalities: Preserving Possibilities for Just Water Futures,\u201d delivered by Rohini Patel, a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Indigenous Studies Department at McMaster University and Global Centre for Climate Change and Transboundary Waters.<\/p>\n\n\t
