Victims of residential schools, colonial violence remembered in heart garden

Aboriginal Students Services Peer Assistants Evelyn Dilworth and Kaitlyn Austin tended to the University’s heart garden in front of the Rankin Family Pavilion Tuesday, Aug. 9. Organized by Austin and Dilworth, the initiative encouraged members of the Brock community to contribute heart-shaped messages to a participatory memorial that aims to remember those who suffered in residential schools as well as through other forms of colonial violence. The hearts will be on display until Sunday, Aug. 21.
