Putting mental health first

Meredith Lichty, a clinical mental health counsellor from the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), stood next to room ST 231 in Brock University’s James A. Gibson Library, where students can drop in to talk about their personal, professional and academic concerns. Thanks to funding from the Niagara Community Foundation’s David S. Howes Community Fund, CMHA counsellors will be available to meet with students every Monday to Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. The service will be on campus until Thursday, April 9 and will be run alongside existing mental health resources in Student Health Services, Student Counselling Services and the 24-hour Good 2 Talk hotline.
