On Thursday, June 21 Brock International Services hosted a FIFA eSports video game tournament in the Global Commons. The event capitalized on the excitement of 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, allowing soccer fans to experience the thrill of scoring a goal for their country. The knockout-style tournament featured 14 students competing for the ultimate prize - a $75 Visa gift card. The winner was Jared Agyemang, a fourth-year Psychology student from Brampton. The World Cup festivities continue at Brock University with live game viewing parties happening throughout the tournament, and a co-ed outdoor soccer tournament scheduled for July 14 at Alumni Field.
