Brock raises flag for Pride Month

Pride Month began with the raising of Brock’s all-inclusive flag on Tuesday, June 1 by University President Gervan Fearon (left) and Pride Niagara President Enzo De Divitiis. With large in-person gatherings still prohibited due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the ceremony was recorded and will be shared through Brock’s social media channels to be enjoyed by the University community. It can also be viewed here. The flag raising marked the beginning of a month of virtual activities to celebrate Pride Month. The flag was raised to the top before immediately being lowered to half-mast, where it will remain for 215 hours along with other flags at the University to honour the 215 Indigenous children whose remains were discovered on the grounds of Kamloops Indian Residential School in Kamloops, B.C.
