Advance poll opens Saturday

Elections Canada is hosting an advance poll at Brock ahead of the federal election, which is set for Monday, Oct. 21. The advance poll opens Saturday, Oct. 5 at 9 a.m. and will allow eligible voters to cast ballots for candidates seeking office in any of Canada’s 338 electoral districts. Students and others will be able to cast “write-in” ballots for their home riding, no matter where it is. The full schedule for the advance poll is: Saturday, Oct. 5 — 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6 — Noon to 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7 — 10 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8 — 10 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9 — 10 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. To secure the voting area, the upper level of Pond Inlet will be locked during the days of the advance polls, and no foot traffic through Pond will be allowed.
