Event encourages openness, curiosity for women in leadership

Brock’s Provost and Vice-President, Academic Arja Vainio-Mattila shared leadership lessons with attendees from across campus during a special in-person session of Women in Leadership (WIL) on Tuesday, Dec. 10.

Vainio-Mattila, who joined Brock in July, has nearly 30 years of experience in institutional development and global leadership. During the event, she discussed the importance of curiosity, flexibility and listening to all voices when it comes to effective leadership using a combination of anecdotes and insights on everything from poetry to pig herding.

Details on this and other upcoming Women in Leadership sessions, including dates, descriptions and login information are available on the WIL website. Members of the Brock community can use their Campus ID to access recordings of past online sessions.

Women in Leadership is committed to supporting and advancing persons who identify as women to achieve and succeed in leadership. All are welcome. Individuals can join the WIL channel on Microsoft Teams or contact Jeannie Mackintosh to be added to the WIL  email distribution list.
