Winter Term parking update

With the end of the Fall Term just weeks away, the Parking Services team is sharing updates and reminders for the Brock community.

Parking will be free from 6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 22 to Tuesday, Jan. 2 in Lots 1, 2, 3 and 4 and any lot where Honk is available. Permits will still be required in all reserved lots and parking regulations still apply:

  • Parking in fire routes or bus stops is prohibited.
  • Obstructing roads, laneways or loading or unloading areas is prohibited.
  • Parking on landscaped areas or walkways is prohibited.
  • Accessible permits must be displayed while parking in accessible spaces.
  • Overnight parking is only permitted in Lot 3 and Lot 4 with a valid residence permit.

Winter permits are set to go on sale Tuesday, Dec. 5 and will be available for various lots on campus. Please visit Parking Services website for more information. Payroll deduction is not available for employees purchasing Winter Term permits.

Members of the Brock community are reminded to drive according to weather conditions while on campus and pay extra attention to pedestrians.

All roads and lots will be cleared in a priority sequence during snowfall events, which means some areas might not have been attended to yet by the time many students and employees arrive on campus. While it can be challenging to see lines on the lots during snowfall events, drivers are asked to park their vehicles in a way that resembles the usual parking layout and avoids blocking other vehicles in or blocking laneways and intersections. If a lot has not yet been cleared, drivers are asked to park next to vehicles already parked in the lot.

Finally, please remember that the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario and Parking Services requires all license plates to be cleared of any snow, ice or other obstructions.

Please visit the Parking Services website or contact parking@brocku.ca with any questions about parking on campus.
