The following is a list of thesis defences taking place between Monday, Oct. 23 and Friday, Oct. 27.

PhD in Applied Health Sciences thesis defence

Elyse Gorrell, a PhD in Applied Health Sciences candidate, will defend the thesis “Athletes vs. Coaches: Perspectives on Social Media” on Monday, Oct. 2 from 9 a.m. to noon. The defence will take place in MCD 350L.

The examination committee includes Brian Roy, Chair; Maureen Connolly, Supervisor; Victoria Goodyear, External Examiner (University of Birmingham); Donato Tarulli, Internal Examiner; and Philip Sullivan, Nicholas Burton and Cathy van Ingen, Advisory Committee.

Master of Science in Biotechnology thesis defence

Minh Vu, a Master of Science in Biotechnology candidate, will defend the thesis “Epidemiology, genetic variance, and symptomology of grapevine viruses in Canada: A metagenomic approach” on Wednesday, Oct. 25 at 3 p.m. in virtual format.

The examination committee includes Cheryl McCormick, Chair; Debbie Inglis and Sudarsana Poojari, Co-Supervisors; Basudev Ghoshal, External Examiner (Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada); and Liette Vasseur, Committee Member.
