The following is a list of thesis defences taking place from Monday, Jan. 23 to Friday, Jan. 27.

Master of Science in Computer Science thesis defences

Muhetaer Mukaidaisi, a Master of Science in Computer Science candidate, will defend the thesis “Protein-Ligand Binding Affinity Directed Multi-Objective Drug Design Based on Fragment Representation Methods” on Monday, Jan. 23 at noon in PL 600F.

The examination committee includes Cheryl McCormick, Chair; Yifeng Li and Renata Queiroz Dividino, Co-Supervisors; Ping Liang, External Examiner (Brock University); and Sheridan Houghten and Naser Ezzati-Jivan, Committee Members.

Liam McDevitt, a Master of Science in Computer Science candidate, will defend the thesis “A Framework for Meta-heuristic Parameter Performance Prediction Using Fitness Landscape Analysis and Machine Learning ” on Wednesday, Jan. 25 at 10 a.m. in MC H313.

The examination committee includes Cheryl McCormick, Chair; Beatrice Ombuki-Berman and Kyle Harrison (University of Newcastle), Co-Supervisors; Yifeng Li, External Examiner (Brock University); and Brian Ross and Renata Queiroz Dividino, Committee Members.

Omid Mohamad Beigi, a Master of Science in Computer Science candidate, will defend the thesis “Analysis of Parkinson’s Disease Gait using Computational Intelligence” on Thursday, Jan. 26 at 11 a.m. in virtual format.

Master of Sustainability thesis defence

Kamran Abbasov, a Master of Sustainability candidate, will defend the thesis “Income Inequality, Distributive Justice, and Sustainable Development: Implications for Niagara Peninsula Aspiring Global Geopark” on Tuesday, January 24 at 1 p.m. in virtual format.
