Brock Recreation begins offering online fitness classes

On Wednesday afternoon, Brock Recreation launched its first online fitness class through the Brock Recreation Instagram account. The move to deliver programming through online platforms is consistent with many others in the fitness industry, who are looking to keep people active and healthy while at home.

“Staying connected and staying active is our focus for the online launch,” said Eric Walters, Fitness Manager. “Working with our instructors, we have put together a preliminary schedule that we are looking to expand in the coming weeks.”

During week one, classes will be streamed on Instagram Live and run between 30 and 45 minutes. Classes offered include flow yoga, kickboxing and hatha yoga.

For the month of April, the Recreation team will be testing new online platforms and adding more classes to encourage participation in a variety of fitness activities.

In keeping with measures being taken to safeguard public health and safety, the Walker Sports Complex is closed, and programming has been cancelled. This includes the closure of outdoor recreational spaces, specifically athletic fields and courts on campus.
