Brock community asked to help the search for the next Provost

Brock President Gervan Fearon is asking faculty, staff and students to participate and assist the University in selecting its next Provost and Vice-President, Academic.

“This is an exciting opportunity to engage and support the future direction of the University through this process,” said Fearon.

In Fall 2016, Tom Dunk, former Dean of Social Sciences, graciously agreed to take on the role as Provost and Vice-President, Academic, for an interim term that is set to end in September 2018.

A President’s Advisory Committee has been working with the executive recruitment consultant Laverne Smith & Associates to facilitate the search for the next Provost. The committee and President Fearon want members of the Brock community to have an opportunity to participate in the process by filling out an online survey. The findings will be used to help inform the process.

Respondents have until Friday, Feb. 9 to complete the survey, which can be found at www.surveymonkey.com/r/YFFQK9N

“This is an important initiative for Brock,” Fearon said in a letter to the Brock community, “and we would like you to be involved. The search will be comprehensive in scope, with an integral portion being a process of consultation.”

Anonymous responses can be made if anyone wishes to do so. All completed surveys will be held in strict confidence by the consultant Laverne Smith & Associates.

“This is an exciting time and opportunity for the Brock community to participate and to help shape the future direction of the University.  Your input is important, and I would ask you to take the few minutes to help us by completing the online survey.”
