Parking services looking for feedback

Brock University is looking for ways to improve the parking experience for the thousands of students, staff, faculty and visitors who drive onto its several campuses every day.

Brock Parking is conducting a Parking Services Master Plan survey in support of Brock’s current Campus Master Plan.

The survey will go out Monday, March 28. Lot users are asked to complete the brief survey by Monday, April 4.

“The purpose of this planning exercise is to receive feedback in an attempt to create a safe, sustainable and friendly parking experience for all users,” said Wendy Laslo, Brock’s director of parking and visitor services.

She said the survey will help the University make sure that it is maximizing the use of parking lots. Brock has more than 4,600 parking spots in total.

It is being sent out to students, faculty and staff as well as community users.

Laslo said the survey is asking users about their habits, preferences and needs for the next 10 years.

Questions range from how drivers want to pay to what the lots are like to navigate.

“We want to make sure we are providing the best, most efficient, cost effective parking on campus,” Laslo said.

The last parking survey was done in 2003, the same year that Zone 2 lots T, U and V were added.

Respondents who complete the survey will be entered into a draw for a chance to win one of 10 $100 Brock Card gift cards that are valid at a number of on-campus outlets and some off-campus locations.
