Wellness conference is Thursday

Laughter, climate change and the adventures of Queen Victoria’s son are among the topics that will be featured at the annual Employee Wellness Conference on Thursday.

Faculty and staff will participate in the annual conference, which features a full day of sessions, speakers and a book and penny sale for charity.

Murray Knuttila, Provost and Vice-President Academic, will open the day with a plenary speech “Be You. Be Well.” Rosemary Hale, who will finish her term as Dean of Humanities on June 30, will close the day with “The Fine Art of Happiness.”

Sessions will include:

  • Bertie’s Excellent Adventure
  • Climate Change, Carbon Footprint and You
  • Laugh Well
  • Classic Dance Sampler — presented by Lionel Southwell
  • Fire extinguisher training
  • Office yoga
  • Dragon boating
  • Pruning 101

Scott Johnstone and Dave McArthur of Facilities Management will lead a group through Brock’s underground service tunnels, while a group of employees will do community service for half a day.

Lunch will be served at 12 noon in the new Niagara Market. There will also be an art show outside the Sean O’Sullivan Theatre gallery from June 16 to 18.
