Typography

If you are working on a PC and need to install a new font on your computer, you may need to contact the IT Help Desk.

Official typeface: Bliss2

The official typeface, Bliss 2, was selected to maintain consistency across all communications. This clean, legible and very distinctive typeface comes in multiple weights to complement the brand signature.

The typographic hierarchy follows the use of:

  • regular for body copy
  • medium for subheads
  • bold for headlines

Typefaces other than Bliss 2 should never be used in external communications and collateral materials. (advertisements, brochures, displays, etc.)

Text can appear in red, black, grey or secondary brand colours on a white background. Text can also appear in white when used against a background of solid red, black, grey or secondary brand colours.

Bliss2 has been licensed to Brock University for use only on Brock materials and on the website.

Electronic typeface: Trebuchet

For all web or electronic uses (such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.), the typeface Trebuchet MS should be used. Like our official typeface, it’s clean, legible, distinctive and available in multiple weights to complement the brand signature.

The typographic hierarchy follows the use of:

  • regular for body copy
  • bold for subheads and headlines
  • minimized use of italics is recommended (for footnotes and emphasis within the body copy).

Consistent typography is an important element in reinforcing the brand signature, and typefaces other than Trebuchet MS should not be used for electronic applications. This typeface should be available as a standard font on all computers that contain Microsoft Office Suite.
