Hello Future Badgers,

With the school semester coming to an end and exam season beginning, it becomes difficult to avoid eating unhealthy snacks. It’s so easy to grab a coffee and a muffin from Tim Hortons on campus instead of making something the night before. Through my experience at Brock University, I’ve done some “Pinterest research” and have found three easy, quick study snacks that are delicious and healthy.

My favourite three are FroYo Bites, No-Bake Energy Bites and Peanut Butter Cheerio Bars.

1. FroYo bites are made of raspberries (or any berries, you would like) and Greek yogurt. You slightly mash the raspberries and then mix it with the Greek yogurt. Once mixed, you put the mixture into ice cube molds and allow to freeze overnight. Once frozen, pop them out of the ice cube tray and into your mouth and enjoy the deliciousness!

2. No-Bake Energy Bites are a favourite among my roommates, all you need is peanut butter (1/2 cup), honey (1/3 cup), old-fashioned oats (1 cup), and semi-sweet chocolate chips (2/3 cup). Very simple, you just mix all the ingredients and place it in the fridge for half an hour. Once chilled, roll the mixture into balls of whatever size you would like. Easy-peasy and these bites are tasty and will help you keep up your energy while studying!

3. The mornings can be rushed, so on my way out I usually just grab a Peanut Butter Cheerio Bar. You only need three ingredients. Can you guess them? Peanut butter (3/4 cup), honey (1/2 cup) and Cheerios (3 cups). Cook the peanut butter and honey together until melted and blended together. Take the pot off the stove and gradually mix the cheerios into the mixture, then place it on flat plan and press in place. Refrigerate for an hour, cut it into bars, and feel “cheery” on your way out to the library.

So, let all this baking be your “study break” and feel healthy when studying!

Good luck on exams, everyone!
