Hi Future Badgers!
Today I’m going to tell you about my weekend! On Saturday, I attended the Brock Namibia Annual Trivia Night at Club Roma in St. Catharines. In one of my previous blogs I told you all about my trip to Namibia through Brock Abroad that I went on last May. Every year, Brock Abroad hosts a trivia night before departing for Africa to raise money for the volunteer projects they will carry out. Here’s a quick recap of the volunteer opportunities they raise money for: supplies for Children’s Camp Namibia, the after school centre called the BNC, and the preschool paint project.
Last year, I was a part of putting on the trivia night with our team of students, and it was a huge success! This year, I got to attend the trivia night as a guest and was able to sit at a table with a bunch of my friends that I made on last year’s trip. It was so much fun… but let me tell ya, those trivia questions were not easy!! Our team didn’t win first place, that’s for sure!
Anyway, the trivia night included a pasta dinner (which was delicious!) and there was a huge bake sale and silent auction. There was a huge turnout of people and everyone enjoyed themselves.
The fundraiser is a great way to support the Brock Abroad program as all proceeds go toward the volunteer projects in Namibia. Keep an eye out for next year’s Brock Abroad Trivia Night, and be sure to brush up on your trivia skills!
Have a great week everyone!
