Wow! Hard to believe the first month of school has come and gone. This is actually the beginning of the end here at Brock for me, I’m in my forth year, studying Drama in Education, and although the thought of graduating makes me really sad, I also can’t help but think of the amazing opportunities that lie before me over the next eight months.

If you haven’t heard yet, Brock offers so many exciting and new extra curricular activities, from intramurals, to musical theatre and everything in between, there is no question you will find something for you here! This year I am determined to get involved in as many things as possible. I am the student buddy advocate on the executive team for the Best Buddies Chapter here at Brock, and I fully plan on making an intramural volleyball team with some friends come the new year… (even though I am not the greatest at volleyball, but don’t tell them that!) just to name a few.

Now parents, if you are out there reading this I’m sure you’re all wondering “What about school opportunities?” Obviously, I don’t know all the ins and outs of all the amazing programs we offer here at Brock, but what I do know is that each program has something that will light a fire in your student’s eyes, and make them want to keep going, keep trying, and keep working to their future career. For me this year, that is my internship/placement/practicum course offered to forth year drama in education students. Not only has this course lit a fire inside me and gotten me excited for my placement, but it has also made me excited for my future as an educator!

Future Badgers, if I can give you one piece of advice to start you final high school year off, or current Badgers, starting a new year here at Brock, it is GET EXCITED! TAKE EVERYTHING IN! AND ENJOY EACH DAY! You all have an amazing future ahead, so hold on and enjoy the ride!

About Michelle

Hey Badgers, my name is Michelle and I am going into my forth year here at Brock University studying Drama in Education! I am hoping to someday be a teacher, or to work closely in schools with intellectually challenged individuals! Brock University has so much to offer, both educationally and socially. I for example, am a part of the BrockU Best Buddies chapter where you are matched with an intellectually challenged individual and spark a friendship allowing them to feel included, and give them numerous leadership and social opportunities! I look forward to writing weekly blogs for you and will hopefully make some of you laugh with my silly stories, all the while giving you a better understanding of BrockU life!
