Relay for Life at Brock University

A Relay!? For Life!? FOR LIFE!? You want me to run around and RELAY for the rest of my LIFE!?

Well…not exactly…it’s not a Relay for Life, it’s a Relay for Life. As in, a 12 hour fundraiser from 7pm to 7am March 6th-7th for the Canadian Cancer Society in hopes of raising as much money as humanly possible towards cancer research opportunities. This will be Brock’s 5th consecutive time hosting a Relay for Life fundraising event here on campus. Throughout the night, in teams of 7-10, Brock students have the chance to participate in games, activities, and watch their fellow students donate their hair so that Cancer patients can have a wig while they are going through their treatments! This year, a member of the Residence Life Staff has even offered to chop off her gorgeously long hair if she reaches her fundraising goal!

This is an excellent opportunity for Badgers to get involved here at Brock for a great cause! The best part is, it’s not too late to pick up a team and start fundraising! The event isn’t until this Friday, so you’ve still got a chance to participate!

About Iain

Hello Future Badgers! My name is Iain, and I am a fourth year Concurrent Education I/S B.A./B.Ed. student (teaching subjects in Drama & History) and Head Resident in the Residence Department here at Brock! First thing’s first, I love this newfound second home that I call Brock and I’m hoping I can pass off all of that love to all of you! This summer I spent an incredible four weeks teaching and living at an Outdoor Education Camp in the Algonquin Highlands and would love to tell you all about it! Through the experiences as an actively involved University student here at Brock, I have seen that maintaining a social life, as well as an academic life is just as important to becoming a well-rounded and balanced student (it’s almost like eating both your fruits and vegetables!) In the coming months, I hope to pass this knowledge on to you, to ensure that your love of all things Brock grows strong. Brock On Badgers!
