So you are now a couple of months into school and starting to feel the pressure of assignments and exams coming up. If you need something to do to get your mind off of school stress but still want to do something productive, you might want to investigate changing your dorm decor.
At the beginning of the year, it can be totally overwhelming to know what to bring to school and how to set up your room. By this point, you have learned what works and what doesn’t. While you thought originally you would do your laundry every week…you are now learning that doing laundry twice a month is worth bragging about. You thought you would be super organized about assignments and readings…but sometimes things slip through the cracks. Fear not! A little redecoration and reorganization will go a long way.
Now to be fair I must admit something. I am sometimes pretty messy. My roommates will attest to the fact that my room is often in a state of disorder and there are clothes and books everywhere. I know though that every time I clean and reorganize my space, everything feels more manageable. Also, when I was in residence, I learned that things like photos on the wall and other personal details made residence feel even homier.
If you know me, you know that many of my sentences start with “So I saw this thing on Pinterest…”, so here is a Pinterest board that I especially like for interesting DIY projects to make your room or your dorm more fun-ctional (I know, pretty corny).
Also, if you are unsure of what to expect in a residence room at Brock, here is a link to our online virtual tours. If you can make it for a campus tour or are able to come to our Fall Preview Day November 3rd, you will have an opportunity to see our awesome residences in person.
Hope this helps, and if you have any questions about residence, let me know in the comments box below and I will get back to you.
Have a great weekend everyone!
