Hey everyone! I hope all of your school years have gotten off to a great start and you don’t have too much homework yet:P The start of this school year for me was really exciting because I began my fourth year of the Concurrent Education program and the last year of my undergraduate studies here at Brock University. It’s crazy for me to think that this time next year I will be in teacher’s college and also how fast the past three years have gone by!

I can’t believe that this time 4 years ago I had just began my last year of high school and was beginning to think about where I wanted to go for university and what program I wanted to take. Now that may seem a little early to start thinking about university, but I found it really helpful because it gave me lots of time to really think about where I wanted to go before applications were due, and helped me realize that Brock was where I wanted to go.

If you’re sitting there reading this thinking “This girl is crazy! I have ZERO idea of where I want to go or what I want to do!!”, then I would suggest checking out the Ontario Universities’ Fair (OUF) in Toronto from Sept. 27th-29th at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre (click here for the website) where you can meet students (like me!) and faculty representatives from all the universities across Ontario (especially Brock!). I would definitely recommend doing some research as to what’s out there and what interests you, and before you know it, you’ll be starting your fourth year of university and looking back on when you decided to come to Brock!!

As for my last year of undergrad, I hope I get the opportunity to do lots of amazing things, and don’t worry I’ll be sure to keep you posted on all of those;)

About Katelyn

Hey everyone! My name’s Katelyn and I’m in my fourth year of the concurrent education program here at Brock at the Junior/Intermediate level with a teachable in French. I have always had a passion for working with children, so I knew that the Con Ed program here at Brock was the perfect fit for me! After I finish my five years here, I hope to work as a French teacher in an elementary school. I also hope to have the opportunity to teach in another country, since I love to travel and experience new places and cultures. I grew up in Kitchener, Ontario, but have been fortunate enough to call St. Catharines my home for the past three years and I look forward to what sorts of adventures I will get up to during my last year of undergraduate studies here. This is also my third year as a Campus Experience Coordinator, so hopefully I can answer any questions you may have about being a university student!
