Brock University: Most Frequently Asked Question

Whenever I am out on a Campus Tour, the question I am most frequently asked is why I chose Brock. I mean after I considered the location of the school, the academic advantages it offered me, and the opportunities I could explore while I studied here, what pulled me towards Brock and got me to accept that offer?

For me, the answer is simple. If you look on Brock University’s Facebook page (which can be found here) and read the “About” section, it’s plain to see. The entire section talks about how Brock’s main goal is to help people develop into the best version of themselves, through nurturing their passions and celebrating their skills and abilities. That whole section could have been spent talking about our amazing athletic facilities, or the accreditation and recognition we have received for our undergraduate and graduate programs, or the research facilities that we are lucky to have right on our campus; but instead of taking the opportunity to shamelessly flaunt all Brock has to offer, they came through with what this university is really all about: you. What you can bring to the table, and what you want to walk away with by the time graduation rolls around. And that my friends, is why I am here! That section, in less than five-hundred words made me fall in love with Brock and know that I made the right choice when I accepted that offer. And in the last four years I’ve been here I’ve never regretted it for a second!

So as your offers of admission roll in and you come by for a campus tour, choose Brock for the reasons I listed above, but also because you could see yourself walking these halls, and eating in these cafeterias, and living in these residences. Choose Brock because you could see it becoming your home!

Wishing you all the best of luck with your offers of admission, and your final semester of high school! Remember, the best is yet to come! 🙂

About Kristie

Hey Everyone! My name is Kristie and I'm a 4th year Psychology student here at Brock. After I graduate, I plan to pursue a career in geriatrics (working with senior citizens)! In my spare time I love rollerblading, being with my friends, and volunteering! I'm part of a group called the Brock University Student Alumni Association (BUSAA), who aim to connect current students and alumni through networking, and volunteer opportunities! I've met a lot of amazing people in this group. It has helped me connect with other students who love volunteering just as much as I do!
