St. Patrick’s Day is always a fun time on campus. In fact, St. Patrick’s Day of my first year at Brock is one of my best memories of university. On that day 2 years ago there were record breaking temperatures in the area. It was SO hot! Since I lived in Village residence which is townhouse-style with courts or blocks of houses, everyone gathered in the middle of the courts (in costume of course) to take in the sunshine. People were wearing green wigs, green shirts, green jewelry, and one guy even died his hair green just for the occasion! We all sat outside in lawn chairs and listened to music, socializing in the sun all day. It was amazing!

This year was a little bit different but just as fun. Once again the weather was great, so my housemates and I decided to have a BBQ! We cooked a bunch of meat, had some friends over, and then hit up the nightlife in downtown St. Catharines afterwards (again – all in costume). It was a blast (and riot-free)!

Some people say St. Patrick’s Day is the university student’s Christmas – it’s near the end of the year, you’re surrounded by friends, and there are fun activities left, right and centre!

Definitely something to look forward to next year. Make sure to pack your green!!!
