Hey everyone! So I don’t know about you but I was pretty excited once Friday afternoon rolled around this week after all the exams and assignments I had to do. I was definitely looking forward to the plans I had for the weekend especially since one of them was one of my favourite things to do…shopping:)

So after class on Friday, my roommate and I hopped on the Pen Centre bus from the school and spent a few hours wandering through different stores (spending a little money) and getting to chat about other things besides school. Afterwards, we headed over to our friend’s house in Thorold where we had a girl’s night and go to see some of my friends that I hadn’t talked to in a while. We also did some Glee karaoke, which was a little embarassing, but so much fun.

On Saturday after sleeping in nice and late, two of my roommates and I went for a walk and ended up at the park near our house. It was so nice out that we decided to take a bunch of pictures to document it. It was so great getting to be outside and take a break from everything and go explore the neighbourhood I’m living in.

That night a group of our friends invited us to a campfire in the woods down by Decew falls, right near Brock. However, my friends and I got there a little later than everyone else, so it was dark outside when we got to the woods and none of us had thought to bring a flashlight. So with the help of our cellphones for light, we eventually made it to the campfire. It was actually really cool being down there at night, since it was the first time I had walked through that area and especially since we weren’t too far from the falls. If you come to Brock I would definitely recommend checking out Decew Falls at night.

Anyways, I’m glad that I got the chance to see my friends this weekend, get in some shopping, go to Decew Falls and de-stress from one crazy week at school!:)

About Katelyn

Hey everyone! My name’s Katelyn and I’m in my fourth year of the concurrent education program here at Brock at the Junior/Intermediate level with a teachable in French. I have always had a passion for working with children, so I knew that the Con Ed program here at Brock was the perfect fit for me! After I finish my five years here, I hope to work as a French teacher in an elementary school. I also hope to have the opportunity to teach in another country, since I love to travel and experience new places and cultures. I grew up in Kitchener, Ontario, but have been fortunate enough to call St. Catharines my home for the past three years and I look forward to what sorts of adventures I will get up to during my last year of undergraduate studies here. This is also my third year as a Campus Experience Coordinator, so hopefully I can answer any questions you may have about being a university student!
