Good evening!
This evening I went on a ghost tour in downtown St. Catharines with my housemate, Katherine and my friend, Kristie! St. Catharines, Thorold, Welland, and Niagara on the Lake is an old area, which hold loads of history. The ghost tour is affiliated with the Downtown Association of St. Catharines for $8.00. The Association hosts a variety of events for all ages to get the community involved. This fall movies in the park is also being hosted.
On the tour, our tour guide (who wore a cape!) shared historical facts and of course ghost stories that have been documented and shared with her. Did you know that the four houses at the intersection of Queen and King Street are the original houses of that intersection?! It is the last original intersection in the city. And that the building in the picture below is haunted because it was a stop on the Underground Railroad (bringing slaves from present day Southern United States to present day Southern Canada to ‘freedom’)!!!
Now, I am not going to give away any more facts because you will have to go on the ghost tour yourself! Click here for the link to the Downtown St. Catharines Association for upcoming events!!!
