Bicentiennial of the War of 1812 … Dedicated to the History Lovers

Hello Friends!

This blog will interest the history lovers. From 2011-2013 are the bicentiennial celebration years for the War of 1812. You can click HERE to view the official site for all of the events.

Yesterday, a movie entitled War of 1812 (surprise surprise!) was premiered in 4 locations and one of the locations was at Brock University in David Howes Theater. I attended the movie premier with two friends. It was free for Brock students….FREE! Oh how I love that word. There was a man dressed up as Issac Brock, wine tasting (to promote the new wine called 1812), fresh veggies and lots of balloon decorations. The 2 hour movie was very well done! A small clip of the movie was dedicated to Issac Brock, who died in the Battle of Queenston Heights on October 13, 1812. If you are interested in viewing the movie it will be broadcasted on PBS on October 10th.
