Student Bursaries

Bursaries are available to Brock University students (undergraduate and graduate) to attend the White Privilege Symposium- Canada September 30th to October 1st. Applications must be received by 5pm on Monday September 26, 2016 and are available at

Symposium delegates: what’s included?

The registration fee for all delegates includes all symposium keynotes and concurrent sessions, and the following scheduled meals and special events:

Friday, September 30: Opening reception with light refreshments
Saturday, October 1: Morning nutrition break, lunch, and afternoon nutrition break

Please note, for delegates who have disability accommodation requests, you may enter your requirements where requested during online registration. In order for us to plan effectively, please advise us of your disability accommodation requests on or prior to Monday, September 19. We will work with you to make appropriate arrangements.

Conference payment information

When registering online, payment can be made by Visa, MasterCard or organizational cheque. Online credit card payments are performed through a secure website, and cheques (made out to Brock University) should be commercial/institutional; please do not send personal cheques or cash.

If paying by cheque, please ensure it is sent within 10 business days after registering, or no later than Friday, September 23, 2016. Full payment is due with registration, and all funds are in Canadian dollars.

Cancellation policy

Because certain expenses are incurred prior to the symposium, it is necessary for the organizing committee to impose the following cancellation policy:

All cancellations must be received via email as per the following schedule:

  • Full refund of registration fees minus a 20 per cent administration fee for all cancellations received on or before Thursday, September 8.
  • 50 per cent refund of registration fees for all cancellations received on Friday, September 9 and on or before Wednesday, September 21.
  • No refund of registration fees for all cancellations received on or after Thursday, September 22.

You will receive confirmation of your cancellation by email. Refunds will be provided by cheque only. There will be no refund granted for registrants who do not meet the conditions/policy outlined above.

Substitutions from the same organization may be made at any time prior to the start of the conference at no extra charge.

Delegates who do not attend meals, receptions, etc. that are included in the registration fee will not receive a refund equivalent to the cost of the event.

Photos may also be taken during the White Privilege Symposium-Canada and used strictly for conference related purposes.
