A Growing Cause in Need of Support

At Brock University, student mental health issues already affect a staggering 49.9% of the student population. Considering the current climate and the circumstances surrounding this academic year, the need for support will only continue to grow.

How you can help

Brock University’s Annual Fund introduced the Student Wellness Fund (SWF) in 2019 to garner additional support for our students. The fund provides support for mental health resources on campus that help students learn to cope with stress, develop effective studying techniques and effectively maintain a healthy work-life balance.

Rooted in the From Intention To Action (FITA) program, donations to the Student Wellness Fund help to ensure students who require additional support will receive one-on-one counselling sessions for 8-12 weeks.

DOUBLE YOUR IMPACT

$1,200 to the SWF = 12 Weeks of One-on-One Counselling

In solidarity, two anonymous donors have agreed to MATCH the first $50,000 of new donations of $100 or more supporting student mental health initiatives!

That means a $250 donation turns into a $500 contribution after your gift is matched, which equals 6 WEEKS of essential counselling support for a student in need.

Young Alumni Supporting Students

A fund we can all get behind

The Student Wellness Fund received the support of all age demographics in 2019. However, those who recently graduated identified this fund as a primary cause for support. In fact, our Young Alumni identify so strongly with supporting mental health initiatives on campus that 38% of donors who made a gift to this fund graduated between 2015-2019.
