WHAT IS THE BROCK UNIVERSITY ALUMNI ASSOCIATION (BUAA)?

The BUAA is championed and governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. The BUAA represents the interests of all Brock University alumni and acts as advocates on their behalf, creates opportunities for alumni to stay engaged with the Brock community, and recognizes our collective success. The BUAA has existed as a volunteer organization since 1967 and was independently incorporated in 1976. Take a moment to review our Mission and Values.

HOW DOES THE BUAA DEFINE ALUMNI?

According to the BUAA Constitution (Article III), membership shall be composed of all persons who have received degrees, diplomas or certificates from the University.

HOW DO I BECOME A MEMBER OF THE BROCK ALUMNI ASSOCIATION?

Once you earn a degree from Brock, you are automatically a member of the Alumni Association. There are no fees to join.

WHAT IS THE BROCK UNIVERSITY STUDENT ALUMNI ASSOCIATION (BUSAA)?

The BUSAA creates and maintains a strong relationship between students and alumni by encouraging a successful student transition to alumni and supporting student and alumni interaction. Click here to learn about the BUSAA Goals and Member Benefits. Full and part-time students are invited to join. Fill out and submit the Volunteer Form to become a BUSAA member now!

WHAT IS MY ALUMNI ID NUMBER?

Your alumni ID number is your student number. If you have forgotten your ID number, please contact the alumni office. You will need to provide your full name, grad year and contact info in order to validate your record and locate your ID number.

WHAT IS AN ALUMNI CARD?

An alumni card identifies you as a Brock Alumni and gives you access to on and off campus benefits, services, discounts and much more!

WHAT DO I NEED AN ALUMNI CARD FOR?

Some services may require your alumni card as identification. You will need to present your alumni card at the library in order to gain library privileges. Other services and benefits may only require your alumni ID number without the need for a physical alumni card. Service providers may need to contact the alumni office to validate your alumni status before approving your access to their discounts and benefits.

HOW DO I GET AN ALUMNI CARD?

A new alumni card will be given to graduates that attend Convocation when you receive your diploma. To request a replacement alumni card please email alumni@brocku.ca. Replacement cards are printed in batches and mailed out once per month. You will need to provide your alumni ID number, full name and mailing address in order to receive a new card.

IS THERE A FEE TO GET A REPLACEMENT CARD?

No – alumni cards are free!

DO YOU OFFER ALUMNI DISCOUNTS?

WHAT ALUMNI BENEFITS AM I ELIGIBLE FOR?

As an alumnus of Brock, you are entitled to many benefits including customized credit card, home and auto insurance, and life, health and dental coverage. Check out a list of our affinity partners.

WHAT ON CAMPUS SERVICES DO ALUMNI HAVE ACCESS TO?

Continue to enjoy access to on campus services including the Walker Complex, dining at Alphie’s, access to the library and more!

HOW DO I REPLACE MY DIPLOMA?

Following Convocation, you may order a copy of your diploma or certificate. To request a duplicate or replacement diploma fill out this General Request Form and submit to convocation@brocku.ca. Please note that there is a $60 fee for a duplicate or replacement diploma.

WHERE CAN I BUY A FRAME FOR MY DIPLOMA?

The Brock Campus Store will be set up during Convocation. Pre-order your diploma frames and jump to the front of the line to pick them up after the ceremony.

HOW DO I GET A COPY OF MY TRANSCRIPT?

Transcripts are provided by the Office of the Registrar. For more information, please email trnscpts@brocku.ca or call 905-688-5550 x3052.

AS A RECENT GRADUATE, HOW LONG WILL I HAVE ACCESS TO MY STUDENT EMAIL ACCOUNT?

Your email account will expire shortly after you graduate.

DO ALUMNI HAVE ACCESS TO THE LIBRARY / ONLINE RESOURCES?

IS THERE A JOB BOARD WHERE ALUMNI CAN SEARCH FOR JOBS?

CareerZone is your portal to job postings (on and off campus), online workshops and other valuable resources. In order to access CareerZone you must have a valid Brock ID and password. Alumni who no longer have an active login, must reactivate their account by going to my.brocku.ca. For more information, contact Career Services at 906-688-5550 x 5115 or email career@brocku.ca.

I AM AN EMPLOYER; HOW DO I POST A JOB OR INTERNSHIP FOR ALUMNI?

CareerZone is your campus resource for posting jobs and recruiting graduates. As an employer, you will be able to post jobs and volunteer opportunities and search upcoming Brock Co-op and career events. Click here to register for an employer account. DOES BROCK UNIVERSITY OFFER AWARDS TO ALUMNI?

Presented annually by the Alumni Association, awards are reviewed by the Recognition of Excellence Committee and chosen based on individual criteria. Click here to view our award categories and descriptions.

HOW DO I NOMINATE SOMEONE FOR AN ALUMNI AWARD?

If you know someone who you think would be a great candidate, please fill in the Award Nomination Form to submit your recommendation.

AS AN ALUMNUS, DOES MY CHILD QUALIFY FOR ANY SCHOLARSHIPS TO ATTEND BROCK?

Yes, the Alumni Association provides an undergraduate award to a child of a Brock alumnus. Apply online through OneApp on the Student Accounts & Financial Aid website.

IS THERE AN ALUMNI CHAPTER IN MY AREA / HOW DO I JOIN A GROUP?

HOW DO I CO-ORDINATE A REUNION?

If you would like to connect with fellow Brock alumni, old friends and new friends, consider co-ordinating a reunion. Note that it is a great idea to host a reunion during Homecoming Weekend! To organize a reunion, please contact Emily Hutton at ehutton@brocku.ca.

WHAT IS SURGITE?

Surgite (sur-gi-tay), latin for “Push On” – The inspiring last words of Maj.-Gen. Sir Isaac Brock. Surgite is an alumni magazine that celebrates Brock University and promotes the success of our graduates in the Niagara Region and beyond.

HOW OFTEN IS SURGITE PUBLISHED?

Surgite is published twice a year in June and December. Surgite is mailed to alumni and friends of Brock University through the Alumni Relations department.

I WOULD LIKE TO BE INCLUDED IN SURGITE MAGAZINE, HOW DO I SEND IN A SUBMISSION FOR CONSIDERATION?

CAN THE ALUMNI OFFICE HELP ME FIND/GET IN TOUCH WITH AN OLD CLASSMATE FROM BROCK?

Due to privacy laws, we are unable to give out personal contact information however, we can try to make contact on your behalf and provide the person with your contact information. It will be up to your classmate to get in touch with you, if they wish. Please email alumni@brocku.ca and provide as much information on the person that you are trying to locate to assist us in finding them in our database.

WHERE CAN I PURCHASE BROCK MEMORABILIA AND ALUMNI ITEMS?

The Campus Store sells Brock branded items including alumni clothing, swag and Tartan memorabilia.

HOW DO I MAKE A DONATION TO BROCK UNIVERSITY?
