UNIVERSITY SUSPENDS THOMAS
———
Chicago Institution to Investigate Charges Against Professor
CHICAGO, April 16, (By A. P.) — Prof. William I. Thomas was suspended from the University of Chicago faculty yesterday pending an investigation of charges that he had violated the conventional moral code in his relations with Mrs. R. M. Granger, wife of an army officer now serving in France. A telegram from Dr. Harry Pratt Judson, president of the university, who is in Washington, directed the issue of the suspension order pending the inquiry into the arrest of the professor and Mrs. Granger at a downtown hotel last week.
