JANE ADDAMS AIDS LEAGUE AGAINST DRAFT
New York, June 2.— [Special.] — It became know today that Jane Addams of Hull house, Chicago, has cast her lot with the People’s Council, and outgrowth of the peace conference held a few days ago. The council and the conference have not urged men to refuse to register, but they were responsible for many attacks on the whole idea of conscription.
Miss Addams was present at an informal gathering of some of the members of the council today. Louis P. Lochner, former secretary of the Ford peace trip, who is prominent in the affairs of the council, announced that Miss Addams had expressed herself as in entire sympathy with the movement.
The Second American conference for Democracy and the Terms of Peace will be held in Chicago.
