THE THOMAS BOYS IN THE CELLAR

West Lafayette, Ind., Aug. 20 — [Editor of The Tribune.] — Recently Mrs. W. I. Thomas at the N.E.A. in San Francisco said: "If the United States should go to war I would put my two sons in the cellar and stand on the door before I would let them go."

I have two sons, too, and it does not set well with me to think of them as fighting in some future war to protect that other home with its two sons hiding in the cellar.
