Judge Newcomer Sentences George Gibbs to Year in Bridewell — Fines George Gill

Judge Newcomer yesterday sentenced George Gibbs, 19 year old, to one year in the house of correction and imposed a fine of $100 on George Gill, 20 years old, both charged with attempting to sell Minnie Peterson into a resort of Dearborn street. They were convicted under the new "pandering" law.
Alleged "white slave dealers" where arraigned before Judge K. M. Landis yesterday afternoon. All sought long delays in their trials. Judge Landis expected to here the cases next week and the week following, but it is probable that the will be postponed until fall.
Benjamin Erickson, 28 years old, employed as a cowboy in a wild west show, was fined $200 and costs and sentenced to serve one year in the bridewell by Judge Blake when he was arraigned on charges preferred by Miss Laura Ebel of the Juvenile court in behalf of Emma Soloman, 16 years ole, 2357 North Whipple street. At Miss Ebel’s request the girl was held to the Juvenile court.
