PAROLE BOY IN GOLF BALL
CASE
———
James McDonald Put in Hands of Juvenile Officer — Four Other Lads Released with
Reprimand.
———
James McDonald, 14 years old, 242 Fifty-fifth street, accused of being the ringleader of the boys who stole $150 worth of golf and tennis balls from the home of Prof. W. I. Thomas of the University of Chicago a week ago, was paroled yesterday. He was given over to James McGuire, juvenile officer, after a hearing before Municipal Judge Maxwell at the Hyde Park court.
Four other boys who were taken into court as witnesses were dismissed with a reprimand at the request of Prof. Thomas.
With the disposition of the case the police believe they have put an end to the systematic theft of golf and tennis balls by a number of boys in Woodlawn of whom the players at Jackson park were the long suffering victims.
