Published on November 27 2012
Youth University will be hosting two film festivals that showcase films developed by students enrolled in afterschool programs delivered by volunteer mentors. The festivals will be taking place on December 4 , 2012 (4:30 to 5:15pm) at Our Lady of Mount Carmel School in Niagara Falls and on December 5, 2012 (4:30 to 5:15pm) at Fort Erie Elementary School. The Neighbourhood Access Initiative is an outreach program that assists youth to see how their passions and interests connect to careers, civic engagement and educational pathways. The program also helps parents and youth learn about preparation for post-secondary education from an early age.
Youth University at Brock is currently partnered with the District School Board of Niagara and the Niagara Catholic School Board to provide tutoring and after -school programming once a week at selected schools. The Neighbourhood Access Initiative is generously funded by the Niagara Region through the Niagara Prosperity Initiative.
