Dr. Fanny Dolansky wins award for best published article on women's or gender studies in antiquity

Dr. Fanny Dolansky is the 2014 recipient of the Barbara McManus award for best published article on women's or gender studies in antiquity for her study titled "Playing with Gender: Girls, Dolls, and Adult Ideals in the Roman World" in the journal Classical Antiquity 31.2 (2012): 256-292. The award is sponsored by the Women's Classical Caucus, an affiliate of the American Philological Association, the primary professional organization for Classicists in North America.

Dr. Fanny Dolansky was a guest on CFBU Radio's "Inquisitive Minds" program on December 18 regarding the significance of the ancient Roman Saturnalia festival and its connections with modern celebrations of Christmas and Boxing Day.
