What We Do
The Student Awards and Financial Aid Office is here to help students fund their education through government and university assistance programs, and to recognize student excellence. We value your feedback. If you have a comment, suggestion, or question regarding our staff or services, please use our feedback form to let us know. You have the option of submitting an anonymous comment, or requesting a response. If you are dissatisfied with the service you have received, you may use our feedback form to direct your complaint to the Manager, Financial Aid. Complaints should include as much detail as possible regarding your concern, including the date and time of any interactions, and the details of your situation. If you wish to submit your concern to an objective third party, we encourage you to contact the office of the Ombudsperson at the Brock University Students’ Union(http://www.busu.net/services/ombudsperson. Concerns regarding accessibility of financial aid services should be directed to our general inquiry email, email@example.com
Our officers work to get students the maximum funding entitled under OSAP program guidelines. In some cases, students with special or unusual circumstances may be granted an appeal to revise a funding assessment – but not all circumstances are eligible for review.
If you feel you have special circumstances that might warrant an appeal, please check out our OSAP forms page for some of the more common OSAP reviews. You can also book an appointment with a Financial Aid Officer to review your file through our feedback form. Alternatively, you can submit an explanation of your situation and request for review in writing to our office.
Brock’s Bursary programs are intended to assist students with academic costs and reasonable living expenses, when government funded programs, student earnings, and family assistance aren’t enough. Bursaries can also be awarded in emergencies, to help with an unexpected circumstance or expense. Our reasonable living costs are determined by reviewing the costs reported by previous applicants to the bursary program, but certain expenses may be ineligible for assistance.
