LGBTQ Resources

Brock University is a community where lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, and questioning (LGBTQ) students, staff, faculty and their allies are free to express their individuality and succeed in a safe social environment.

There are many resources both on and off campus for Brock students, staff, and faculty who belong to the LGBTQ community. For more information on each individual organization, please visit the following websites. 

Resources on campus

Brock Pride
Brock Pride is the official Brock University club devoted to creating a safe, social environment  for students of diverse gender and sexual identities.

Student Justice Centre
The SJC educates the student body about racism, sexism, homophobia and other forms of prejudice. They provide a safe space on campus with peer to peer support.

Human Resources
A resource for staff and faculty on campus.

Human Rights and Equity Services
A resource for all members of the Brock community providing information, education, assistance and advice on a wide variety of issues related to harassment and discrimination.

Personal Counselling
Personal counselling offers free services for students who are experiencing personal/social difficulties while studying at Brock.

A university publication with information about transgender and gender variant students, and available services.

Positive Space Campaign
The Positive Space Campaign at Brock University is an initiative intended to raise the visibility and number of respectful, supportive, educational and welcoming spaces for lesbian, gay, bi, trans, two-spirited, queer and questioning (LGBTQ) students, staff and faculty.

Health Services
Health Services is a team of caring, dedicated, multi-disciplinary professionals with expertise in university health issues.  They support a diverse student population through provision of confidential primary health care, prevention programs, wellness education and strategic medical and academic partnership promoting optimal health and university success.

Pride Niagara
A celebration of Niagara's sexual and gender diverse community and its supporters.

Out Niagara
An online bulletin board for the LGBTQ community in Niagara.

Transgender Niagara
A trans* peer support group in St. Catharines providing the trans* community with access to information, resources, and companionship.

PFLAG Niagara
PFLAG is a national organization that helps all Canadians with issues of sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression.

LGBTQ Youth Line
Youth Line is a toll-free Ontario-wide peer-support phone line for LGBTQ young people. Youth Line also provides online peer-support through an online forum and email responses.

Quest Community Health Centre
A non-profit organization committed to providing quality primary health care and social services to the residents of the Greater St. Catharines area, and the LGBTQ community.
